How it works
Three steps, once a week
A task goes up on Monday
Something anyone can do in a week. Run 10 km. Get three runs in. Be out on four different days.
You run it your way
Any days, any pace, any route. Your runs arrive from Strava on their own, so there is nothing to log or submit.
Finish it and you are in
Everyone who completes the task goes into that week's draw. One name comes out at random.
Why it works
A challenge, not a competition
Most running communities end up ranking people, which is motivating for the ten at the top and quietly discouraging for everyone else. This one is built the other way round.
Nobody is ranked
There is no leaderboard and no table. The task is the same for everyone, and finishing it is the whole qualification, so the person running 15 km a week has exactly the same chance as the one running 80.
Your running stays yours
You see what everyone ran added together, never who ran it. No names, no individual distances, no way to work out who did what. Your own numbers stay on your dashboard.
Nothing to submit
Connect Strava once and the page keeps score. No photos, no posting, no proving it. If you ran, it counts.
A reason to get out
A small, specific target with a deadline is the thing that gets people out on a Thursday evening. That is most of what the prize is for.
See what everyone did
How far the whole community ran this week, how many were out, and the longest run anyone managed. It is a good week when the number is big.
Notes from the coach
What is on, what is coming, and what everyone just did. A short read rather than another feed to keep up with.
Questions
Before you join
Do other members see my runs?
No. The community page shows totals for everyone added together and nothing else: how many kilometres, how many runners were out, how many finished the week's task. There are no names, no individual distances, and no leaderboard. Your own runs stay on your private dashboard.
Do I have to be fast?
No, and speed never helps. The weekly task is something anyone can finish, and everyone who finishes goes into the same draw. Running further or faster does not improve your odds.
Do I need Strava?
To have your runs counted automatically, yes. Connect it once and the page keeps score for you. Without it you can still read the week's task and everything else, there is just nothing to measure you against.
What do you actually win?
Small things: Slow Miles kit and the occasional item from a partner. It is a reason to get out the door on a quiet week rather than a reason to join.
How is the winner picked?
At random from everyone who finished the task. We check the week's runs, take everyone who qualified, and draw one name.
Does it cost anything?
No. The community, the race plans and the dashboard are all free, and there is no paid tier waiting behind them.
Free forever
