The shoe
A carbon PWRPLATE runs through a midsole Puma splits front to back: the bouncier PEBA Nitrofoam sits under the forefoot where the plate is doing its work, and a PEBA and EVA blend takes the heel landings. That is 38/30mm of stack at 250g, an 8mm drop, and PUMAGRIP underneath. The upper is the real change from the Deviate Nitro 3, which pinched a lot of people across the toes.

Both layers moved up a grade from the Deviate Nitro 3: the top layer from a PEBA blend to 100 percent PEBA, the lower one from TPEE to a PEBA blend. This is not the ATPU Nitrofoam Elite the racer runs on, despite the shared family name.
