Stripped-back speed
Puma Deviate Pure Nitro
The first Deviate with no plate. Puma kept the PEBA foam that makes its racers bounce and took the stiff bit out, which is where the weight went.

The shoe
The headline is what is missing. For the first time in the Deviate line there is no PWRPLATE, just a full-length midsole of 100% PEBA Nitrofoam, the same foam family Puma races in. Losing the plate is where the 30g saving over the plated Deviate Nitro 4 comes from, leaving 38/30mm of stack, an 8mm drop and 220g on a PUMAGRIP outsole.
